This week is another great example of how good The MVP Podcast can be when all of the cards fall right for the staff during the week. So…expect nothing but the best from your friends at the MVP Podcast this week as we aim to knock your socks off this time around.
Our game of the week is Colerain versus Ryle High School of Union, Kentucky.
Last week, Colerain moved into the JJ Huddle/Muscle Milk Power Poll based on a convincing win over the three-time AA Florida state champions at Cocoa High School. In doing so they snapped Cocoa’s 38-game winning streak.
They haven’t lost at the Cage since 1999.
For their part, Ryle brings back most of the key players from a team that was one game away from winning it all in the big school division in Kentucky last fall.
Tim Langevin will be on hand to give us the pregame lowdown.
Also on hand will be head coach Jay Minton of the Wayne Warriors and we will discuss rebounding from a tough loss in the state final last year to Cleveland St. Edwards as well as the excitement of building anew, the future of Braxton Miller, scheduling in a crazy Division I world, and what it is like to be trailing the Beavercreek Beavers in the GWOC-Central.
As always, he is among our most outstanding interviewees. A good man and a great coach he always answers our questions straight up.
We like that.
Next up for the Warriors? How about Canton McKinley?
OMG.
Guest number three is James Lacking the head coach of an enigmatic Dayton Dunbar squad.
Dunbar finds themselves in a potentially wild race to secure playoff spots in a way too competitive D-III, region 12. We talk about that, life in the Dayton City league, their possibly overly ambitious schedule, Roger Williamson, and much more.
Next up for the Wolverines? How about a highly-talented Trotwood-Madison squad looking for neighborhood bragging rights?
You’ve come to expect more than that from your weekly podcast and–as always–we are aware of your needs, so we bring you one Ron Neanen, head football coach at Eaton High School for your listening entertainment.
Eaton, too, is a member of D-III region 12 and they are painfully aware that they have little in terms of a margin of error this season if they aspire to playoff status.
Next up for Eaton? How about St. Henry and Waynesville.
We’ll talk about this and more, all here at the MVP podcast… brought to you for free from your friends at JJ Huddle.com and Miami Valley Sports Magazine.
