Well respected Bucknuts recruiting editor Bill Kurelic recently released his Bill Kurelic’s Ohio 2013 Top 10. Bucknuts.com and Kurelic were the first to put out an Ohio 2011 Top 10, and the first with Ohio 2012 and 2013 Top 10’s. Today we take a look at hist latest list that’s littered with Miami Valley talent…
10 (tie). RB DeVeon Smith (5’11 195 4.5) Warren Howland
Considering: Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, USC, Alabama, USC, Alabama, Iowa and others
The Skinny: Jim Tressel has told Smith the Buckeyes are interested, and as one would expect many others are as well.
10 (tie). ATH Michael McCray II (6’4 220 4.6) Trotwood-Madison
Considering: Ohio State, Oregon, West Virginia, Notre Dame and others
The Skinny: McCray is a legacy with his father Michael Sr., having played for the Buckeyes. Michael II has OSU type talent too. He has an early offer from Toledo.
9. QB Kyle Stahl (6’5 205 4.7) St. Henry
Considering: Ohio State, Cincinnati, Notre Dame and others
The Skinny: Stahl is a fine athlete who was on the St. Henry varsity football and basketball teams as a freshman. He has a great arm and throws very accurately.
8. DE Taco Charlton (6’6 240 4.9) Pickerington Central
Considering: Ohio State, Michigan State, Alabama, Cincinnati, Penn State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and others
The Skinny: Charlton is a talented football and basketball player. He has a football offer from Cincinnati and more are going to follow.
7. ATH Marcus McWilson (6’0 190 4.5) Youngstown Cardinal Mooney
Considering: Ohio State, Nebraska, Michigan and others
The Skinny: The Nebraska Cornhuskers have basically told McWilson they are going to offer.
6. OL Lovell Peterson (6’4 285 5.1) Huber Heights Wayne
Considering: Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, West Virginia, Cincinnati and others
The Skinny: Peterson has the potential to be an outstanding center in college. He has already spoken with Jim Tressel and a number of other coaches.
5. RB Dymonte Thomas (6’1 180 4.5) Alliance Marlington
Considering: Ohio State, Michigan State, Alabama, Florida, Oregon, Cincinnati and others
The Skinny: Thomas, who is the cousin of OSU running back commitment Brionte Dunn, has a scholarship offer from Michigan State.
4. TE/OL/DE Jacob Matuska (6’5 245 4.9) Columbus Hartley
Considering: Ohio State, Notre Dame and others
The Skinny: Matuska stars on the Hartley football and basketball teams, but will go the football route in college.
3. OL/DL Bill Price (6’4 270 5.0) Austintown Fitch
Considering: Ohio State, Michigan State, West Virginia, Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan and others
The Skinny: Price will likely camp at Ohio State and Michigan State this summer, and possibly Pitt, Notre Dame and Penn State.
2. DB Cameron Burrows (6’2 195 4.5) Trotwood-Madison
Considering: Ohio State, LSU, Oregon, Texas, Alabama, Michigan State, USC, Michigan, Wisconsin and others
The Skinny: Burrows has an offer from Cincinnati. I think he eventually gets one from the Buckeyes.
1. QB/Ath Jalin Marshall (6’1 185 4.45) Middletown
Considering: Ohio State, Pitt, Cincinnati, Florida, South Carolina, West Virginia and others
The Skinny: Marshall says he has OSU at the top of his list, but also likes Florida and South Carolina. He has offers from Pitt and Cincinnati, and the Buckeyes have indicated they are going to offer.
