The weather was the big winner at Friday’s 66th annual Ohio North-South Classic at Ohio Stadium.
The game was played under a steady rain. But that didn’t stop the South team and its ground-based offensive attack from taking a 25-7 win over the North. The rainy conditions helped keep the crowd total down to just a few thousand.
Quarterback/running back Tyler Williams (Cincinnati Colerain) was the game MVP as he rushed nine times for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
Running back Jayshon Jackson (Westerville South) was the South offensive MVP with 115 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. He also had a 17-yard catch.
Five future Buckeyes played in the game.
The South won the game for the second consecutive year. The North still owns a 38-25-3 lead in the all-time series. The South now leads the series 6-5 since it returned to Columbus in 2001.
The Ohio North-South Classic is the longest running high school all-star game in the country.
