According to the Dabbelt Report, Middletown Madison High School senior Ally Malott has chosen to play college basketball at the University of Dayton. Malott is regarded as one of the top two senior prospects in Ohio and is a nationally renowned player. It could be argued she is Dayton’s biggest women’s basketball recruit ever.
Malott choose UD over Notre Dame, Purdue, Miami and Northwestern. She also received serious interest from UConn.
Last season Malott and Madison went undefeated before falling in the Division III state championship.
Malott’s commitment continues the flow of top tier Miami Valley talent to Dayton. She’s the second area recruit to commit to Dayton and follows an earlier verbal by Spring Valley Academy senior Andrea Hoover. The Dabbelt Report has Malott and Hoover ranked 1-2 among Miami Valley senior prospects.
In addition, Versailles grad Justine Raterman (a returning All-Atlantic 10 player) is a junior at UD and Fairmont’s Cassie Sant is a freshman. Raterman led Versailles to back-to-back state tournaments and won a D-III title. Sant led Fairmont to the D-I Final Four last year.
