Looking for some games to catch this season? Here’s where you need to start…
Colerain vs Northmont
Aug. 28, 2010: Shockingly both these playoff regulars missed the postseason last year. This game – part of the Skyline Showdown – will go a long way in deciding which returns.
Wayne vs. Cincinnati Moeller
Aug. 29, 2010: This will be the marquee game of the Skyline Showdown and will be televised nationally by ESPNU (7 p.m. start).
Canton McKinley vs Wayne
Sept. 5, 2010: This game is part of the Herbstreit Series at Ohio Stadium. It matches up two Ohio State verbals named Miller in McKinley’s DE Steve and Wayne’s QB Braxton.
Alter at Centerville
Sept. 10, 2010: THE game in the Miami Valley this year. These neighborhood rivals play in other sports but have only met in football four times – the last of which was in 1967. Bad blood? Yeah…plenty of it.
Cincinnati Moeller at Northmont
Sept. 10, 2010: Moeller survived a trip to Centerville last year. Now the Crusaders try their hand with another GWOC heavyweight.
Trotwood-Madison at Wayne
Sept. 17, 2010: For fans of offense, this game will pit two of the state’s best. Wayne has Miller, while T-M has a backfield that all has D-I offers. Last year the Warriors won 21-19.
Cleveland St. Ignatius at Centerville
Sept. 18, 2010: The Wildcats will venture south to Dayton to face one of the state’s top public school programs.
Springfield at Wayne
Oct. 1, 2010: Best friends Trey DePriest (S’fld) and Miller (Wayne) square off one more time before playing on Saturdays. Oh yeah, this is the GWOC Central opener too.
Centerville at Wayne
Oct. 14, 2010: These two heated rivals tied for the GWOC Central title last year. Game also pits future OSU teammates against each other with Miller (Wayne) and Michael Bennett (Centerville). The fact that ESPNU will broadcast this game nationally adds even more intrigue.
Chaminade Julienne at Alter
October 29, 2010: The Knights have owned this Miami Valley parochial rivalry recently. The Eagles though counter this season with arguably their best team in years. Will that matter?
