There will some local flavor at the annual Ohio/Kentucky All-Star Basketball Game, to be played this Saturday, at Thomas More College in Northern Kentucky. The girls game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., while the boys game will begin at 7:30.
Playing in the girls game this year includes four players from the Miami Valley. Vandalia-Butler point guard Kacie Cassell, who is headed to Akron, will be participating, along with Cassie Sant from Fairmont (University of Dayton), Courtney Boyd of Brookville (Wright State University), and Allie Turner of Greenon (Morehead State University). Also on the coaching staff for Ohio will be Tipp City resident Jim Dabbelt, Executive Director of The Dabbelt Report.
The lone area player in the boys game will be Quinten Rollins of Wilmington High School.
The Slam Jam Festival will be held on Friday night at the college, which will pit the players from their respective state against each other in one-on-one, three-on-three, 3-point shooting, and a slam dunk contest. This begins at 7 p.m.
