It’s going down to the witching hour. The MAC boys championship won’t be determined until Friday at 9:30 pm. Thanks to New Bremen’s 64-54 conquest of Delphos St. John’s Monday, three teams still remain in the hunt. The Cardinals are the hottest of the three with six straight wins and 12 of its last 13 games.
The Blue Jays were flying high with a 10-game win streak after a huge win Friday against Fort Recovery, 62-49, for sole possession of first place.
Now it comes down to a pair of games. Fort Recovery (7-1) plays at New Bremen (6-2) and Coldwater travels to Delphos (7-1).
The mystery question. What happened to Coldwater? On February 8th, Coldwater beat New Knoxville 68-52 for win number 1,000. Since then, the Cavaliers lost three of five games, including an embarrasing 51-27 defeat to Marion Local. Perhaps, it was their NBA-like schedule of five games in eight days.
Anna Boys County Champs
The Anna Rockets defeated Russia Friday 61-54 Friday for thier third consecutive Shelby County League title. It is the school’s third three-peat. During this three-year-run, Anna has compiled a 35-1 league record. The Rockets only blemish was a 50-47 loss to Fort Loramie December 22.
