Minster girls XC wins state; how others faired…

Minster defended its Division III girls cross country championship on Saturday and in the process became the first girls program in state history to win eight state titles. Last year the Wildcats tied Cleveland Heights Beaumont for the most titles with seven. This year they left the Blue Streaks and everyone else in the dust at Scioto Downs outside Columbus.
Minster was led by freshman Natalie Fausey who finished 15th overall.
West Liberty-Salem finished fifth in D-III.
Individually, Versailles sophomore Tammy Berger claimed the D-III state title with a time of 18:47.94. She finished eight seconds ahead of the runner-up. Russia junior Katie Borchers was third and Miami East senior Juli Accurso was seventh.
In Division I, Springboro was second, while in D-II Alter (5), Coldwater (6) and Greenon (8) all secured Top 10 finishes.
