The MVP Fab 5 Football Rankings: Week 10

It’s now or never – literally – for several Miami Valley football teams. It’s Week 10 and that means two things: league titles and playoff berths.
While several players will take their last snaps this week, others will be looking to earn a couple more and one more game.
Some schools will also be looking to win Fab 5 championships.
There was a shake-up on top of the D-I standings this week, while the other five No. 1s remained the same. The spots behind them though saw plenty of movement.
As for big Fab 5 games this week, the following feature two teams from the rankings:
Tecumseh vs Bellefontaine
Miami East vs Ansonia
Fort Loramie vs Lehman Catholic
Alter vs Chaminade Julienne
Here’s how the Fab 5 Rankings look heading into Week 10 – the final performance.
Division I
1. Wayne (6-3): I owe the Warriors an apology. I – and a lot of other people – thought for sure Centerville was going to head to Huber Heights and walk away with the win. So much for that. The Jeykel and Hyde Warriors found their nasty side in trouncing the Elks 42-20. Juior QB Braxton Miller also went nuts in the victory which made Wayne a sudden playoff contender. Beat Springfield Friday and the Warriors are in the postseason. Wow.
2. Lebanon (7-2): The Warriors win the GWOC South with a victory over Miamsiburg (1-8) on Friday. Will that win get them enough points to get into the postseason thogh? Hmmm.
3. Centerville (7-2): Last week’s invincible No. 1 is now No. 3 and ninth in the Region 4 playoff rankings. Rivalry games with Fairmont awaits.
4. Northmont (5-4): T-Bolts snap two-game losing streak with convincing defeat of previous No. 5 Fairmont (47-20).
5. Springboro (7-2): Panthers aren’t mathematically eliminated from playoffs, but it doesn’t look good. Must beat Fairborn (6-3) on Friday and then have a lot go their way.
Division II
1. Trotwood-Madison (6-3): Rams are looking to win their second straight outright GWOC North title. Only Butler stands in the way. A home playoff game awaits – more than likely.
2. Tecumseh (8-1): Big win over Tippecanoe gets Arrows an upgrade from No. 3 to No. 2. Beat Bellefontaine this week and Tecumseh can celebrate a CBC Kenton Division title en route to the playoffs.
3. West Carrollton (8-1): Win at Goshen and the Pirates are in the postseason. Lose and they probably are too, but coming in riding a six-game win streak sounds a whole lot better.
4. Wilmington (7-2): The good news? The Hurricane controls its own destiny in regards to the playoffs. The bad news? They have to beat undefeated Turpin. At least they get the Spartans at home.
5. Carroll (5-4): The Patriots aren’t mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but plenty has to happen – like them beating Fenwick first.
Division III
1. Graham (7-2): Falcons can wrap up the CBC Mad River Division title with a win over Urbana. Question is will it be enough to get hem into the playoffs in deep Region 10? Hopefully. This team deserves a playoff bid.
2. Bellefontaine (8-1): Chieftains can grab share of CBC Kenton Division title and a playoff berth with win over Tecumseh. Basically the playoffs for them start this week.
3. Chaminade Julienne (8-1): Eagles have won five straight. Big test this week against rival Alter. Playoffs will be nice, but hanging one on the Knights would be better.
4. Tippecanoe (7-2): Red Devils did not perform well in loss to Tecumseh last week. A better showing against Kenton Ridge with a share of the CBC Kenton Division title is a must. Tipp has already locked up a playoff spot.
5. Eaton (7-2): The Eagles won their first SWBL Southwestern Division title since 2006 with a victory over Valley View. Now they can fine-tune some things before hopefully netting a playoff berth. Some things have to happen for the Eagles, who are currently 10th in Region 12.
Division IV
1. Alter (9-0): The Knights, the State’s No. 1 team, continue to roll. Rival CJ is up next.
2. Clinton-Massie (9-0): The Falcons looking to wrap an undefeated season with a win at rival East Clinton before yet another playoff trip.
3. Thurgood Marshall (6-3): Cougars hope the label “best team in Ohio not to go to the playoffs” doesn’t stick. A lot has to happen though. Fingers crossed.
4. Carlisle (7-2): For the Indians it boils done to this – beat Dixie to earn a share of the SWBL Buckeye Division title and a playoff bid.
5. Waynesville (7-2): Big win over Monroe propelled the Spartans back into the playoff picture. Whether or not they make remains to be seen.
Division V
1. Coldwater (8-1): The Cavaliers face New Bremen in final game before playoff action arrives.
2. Anna (8-1): Rockets meet Marion Local in regular season finale before the march to a rematch with Coldwater starts?
3. St. Henry (6-3): Redskins don’t control their own fate for the playoffs, but beating rival Minster will help.
4. West Liberty-Salem (9-0): Tigers have already earned a playoff berth. Cedarville is the only thing that stands in the way of an OHC outright title.
5. Miami East (8-1): CCC title and playoff berth is on the line in home game against undefeated Ansonia.
Division VI
1. Delphos St. John’s (9-0): Blue Jays looking to win 17th straight game before beginning defense of their state title.
2. Ansonia (9-0): The Tigers have already locked up a playoff bid. Now they want the outright CCC title. Miami East stands in the way.
3. Fort Loramie (8-1): More than likely the Redskins are already in the playoffs – win or lose against Lehman. A win though, and Loramie is likely hosting a first round game.
4. Southeastern (7-2): Trojans rallied from a 32-14 halftime deficit to beat Northwestern 42-40. A win over Triad (3-6) and Southeastern is playoff bound.
5. Lehman Catholic (6-3): The Cavaliers have wo four straight. If they make it five they’ll be in the postseason. Fort Loramie is tough draw to end season – but Cavs have owned this new rivalry.
