Centerville advanced in the Division I girls soccer district tournament on Wednesday with a 7-0 win over Springfield Shawnee. The Elks now await the winner of the Bellbrook-Middletown clash set for 5 p.m. Saturday (at Bellbrook). The Elks, ranked No. 2 in the final area poll and No. 9 in the final state poll, is now 16-1-1 and has outscored its two tourney foes 19-0.
Beavercreek, No. 1 in the area and No. 6 in the state, won its Wednesday tourney game 8-0 over Chaminade Julienne. The Beavers now face Springboro at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, in a district semifinal. Creek, which has won its two tournament games 17-0, is 16-0-2.
Wayne, the No. 3 team in the area and No. 10 in the state, improved to 17-1 with a 5-0 win over Northmont. The Warriors next play Carroll in a district semifinal at 8 p.m. Monday at Northmont.
